Saigon Surface

Coming from Minnesota it is a mission of mine to find a Vietnamese restaurant that can compare to Viet Flavor in Sartell MN. (To rant about how amazing Viet Flavor is for a moment... they have the absolute BEST Combination Beef Pho I have ever experienced, absolutely delicious spring rolls, sweet and savory steamed pork dumplings, and a meatball Bahn Mi that has forever changed my world). Sadly, we have moved away from our favorite Vietnamese restaurant and are on a mission to find a place that can compare. Thus, one of my first meals in Omaha was at a Vietnamese restaurant in the Old Market called Saigon Surface. I ordered the Combination Beef Noodle Pho, and was quite surprised at how delicious it tasted. The meatballs were savory, and the broth was rich in flavor. While it was not as good as my favorite Pho at Viet Flavor, it was still quite delicious. 

Saigon Surface is a very modern restaurant that I imagine could be very busy on a weekend (as it was not very large). I noticed that they have a different menu for lunch which serves Bahn Mi. So, it looks like there is another trip to Saigon Surface in my future to see if the Bahn Mi can compare.
